Location: Near Baysville, Muskoka, Ontario

Tucked into the woods along the shore of a small, tranquil Muskoka lake, this cottage has classic charm that will appeal to families ready to relax and make memories. Trails lead from the cottage’s hilltop perch to the interesting natural shoreline. Younger guests may want to explore the shore while adults watch from the deck above. Everyone will want to spend time in the screened porch or on the deck, as well as on the dock or swim raft.

Exploring the lovely lake with one of the cottage’s self-propelled watercraft will also be a quiet, peaceful experience since there are not many cottages on this serene lake and no motorboats are allowed. At this alluring property, it’s easy to imagine hearing loon calls waft across the lake while sharing favorite stories by a campfire. The firepit is located on a level space right beside the shore, and the dock stretches out into the water from there. To the left of the dock, one section of the waterfront is clear to provide easy access for swimming, for those who want to wade right in.

The cottage’s large living room windows overlook the dock and waterfront area, and afford lovely views of the lake, including a small island directly in front of the property. The expansive living/dining/kitchen room has windows on three sides and plenty of room to spread out. A comfy sofa and armchairs are arranged near the stone fireplace, with additional seating nearby, facing the lake. The solidly built dining table has long benches on either side and a large kitchen island has four stools, offering ample seating for groups.

The spacious island countertop also allows ample space for spreading out a buffet or preparing a meal. The kitchen itself fully equipped with the standard modern appliances, from dishwasher to microwave. In addition to the stainless steel fridge in the kitchen/dining area, a secondary fridge is located in the entry room off the driveway, as well as a doubl sink and an extra stretch of counter space, if needed. Near the kitchen entrance, there’s large bath and laundry room with a double-wide shower, stacked washer/dryer and a handy table.

There are three sizable bedrooms and a smaller sleeping alcove. The master bedroom, which is adjacent to the bathroom, is the only bed chamber on main level; it has a king-sized bed. The other sleeping areas are located on the upper floor – one secluded nook in the landing at the top of the stairs and two bedrooms that overlook the lake. One of these bedrooms has a queen bed and the other has a set of double-over-double bunks.

Electronics are minimal in this cottage but there are board games and puzzles for entertainment. Set up a puzzle on the comfortable, spacious screened porch and let everyone work on it! Or, perhaps, telling ghost stories by the fire will be the group’s preferred pastime while staying at this enchanting cottage.

Ideal for a group that wants to relax and enjoy nature, this property has plenty of space to spread out and is furnished with ambiance galore! Walk out from the open-concept living/dining room to the delightful, light-filled screened porch, then a few steps further to the large deck, surrounded by built-in bench seats. From there, it’s easy to wend one’s way down to the waterfront for a swim, to enjoy a coffee or glass of wine on the dock or, possibly, to do a little bird watching.

Since this little lake is only about 1O minutes’ drive from a nearby village, it’s also easy to zip out for supplies or to take in some of the local entertainment options. There’s a popular pub that often has live music, a craft brewery, an antique shop, several eateries and, in the summer, a bustling farmers’ market.

**Linen packages are available for this cottage, but vacationers are welcome to supply their own. A linen package includes sheets, pillowcases and towels for indoor use. The price for this will be shown as an option in the booking request form.

**Paper products: The cottage will provide enough to get you started, but vacationers must supply their own, including toilet paper and paper towels.

**Adult life jackets are supplied. Vacationers must bring their own children’s life jackets due to safety and liability concerns
