Location: Fraser Island on Lake Nipissing, near Powassan, Ontario

Located on beautiful Lake Nipissing, nestled away in a secluded bay on Fraser Island, this cottage is sure to make a memorable family vacation. Since the property is on an island, it is only accessible by boat – bring your own or rent one from a nearby marina. The property features a 1900 square foot, two-storey cottage on three acres of land with 850 feet of waterfront. The property is very private and invites exploration by both children and adults.

The cottage grounds feature grassy sections for games, as well as a sandy area at the beach. A short boardwalk connects the cottage with the beach, where numerous water toys are available. The beach and dock are both sheltered from big waves and wind. Although there is a nice view of the lake, there is very little boat traffic in the immediate area.

A large deck wraps around the cozy cottage and includes a ramp for wheelchair access from one side. A BBQ, and small table with two chairs, are located at the rear. The spacious front section of the deck has ample room for relaxing or dining at two tables. From the deck, watch the water and sunset as the day comes to a close. Sun can be enjoyed on the dock and west side of the deck throughout the afternoon.

The open-concept living/dining area has air conditioning, as well as a cathedral ceiling with large windows, and opens onto the front deck. The cottage has hardwood floors, classic pine siding, and interesting décor, making it a welcoming and comfortable space. There are comfy couches for watching movies and satellite TV or playing with puzzles or board games. The dining table seats eight.

Adjacent to the table, a counter with three stools allows the dining area to meld with the kitchen, which is fully equipped with pots and pans, cutlery, stove, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, dishwasher, and double sink. Water from the lake is triple filtered so it is potable. Off the rear of the kitchen, there’s a small laundry room with a washer and dryer.

Also on the main floor, there is a large bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a sliding door that gives access to the deck. A three-piece bathroom is situated between this master bedroom and the laundry room. On the upper level, there are three bedrooms and another three-piece bathroom. One upstairs bedroom has a queen bed; the second has a queen and a single; the third has a bunk bed with a double on the bottom and a single on top. All of the bedrooms have spacious closets.

There is a lot to explore in the area, both on the property surrounding the cottage and on Lake Nipissing. A pedal boat, kayak, and canoe are provided, for those who wish to take a tour around the island. Afterward, enjoy a swim at the sandy beach or, perhaps, try out the sauna that’s located near the dock. A short boat ride into North Bay or Callander gives access to restaurants and shops of all kinds.

**Linen packages are not available for this cottage. Vacationers must supply their own sheets, pillowcases, and towels, including towels for the kitchen and beach.

**Paper products: The cottage will provide enough to get you started, but vacationers must supply their own, including toilet paper and paper towels.

**Adult life jackets are supplied. Vacationers must bring their own children’s life jackets due to safety and liability concerns.
