Tips for Renters

If you're looking for a cottage or chalet to rent, take note of the following tips:

  • Where possible, visit the property you are interested in. Pictures can give you an idea. A visit will give you a better picture.

  • Unless specified, ask the owner if linens, blankets, and pillows are supplied.

  • If a television is provided, ask the owner if satellite service, a VCR or DVD player is also available. If not, you may wish to bring your own player with some videos or DVD's.

  • Prior to your stay, come to an agreement with the owner regarding liability of goods in the cottage or chalet that become damaged during your stay.

  • Ensure the water in the cottage or chalet is drinkable. If not, bring your own bottled water.

  • Find out where the closest stores and medical facilities are.

  • If you plan on bringing your own water crafts, make sure the owner is informed.

  • If you plan on bringing your pets, make sure they are welcome.

  • Make sure you are aware of the condition the cottage or chalet must be in when your rental term is complete.

  • If you plan on having visitors, make sure the owner is informed.
