Appliances and furnishings: fully-equipped kitchen including fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, washer and dryer, two televisions (limited reception) for use with VCR, DVD player, CD player, fire pit with wood, barbeque, canoe and life jackets, well water. Please bring your own linens.
Located on quiet Otter Lake, Avalon offers a southern view through towering pines and hemlocks. A gentle sloping path leads to the water and a long dock where the lake entrance is sandy, shallow and great for children. Two levels of decking invite you to relax in the afternoon sun. Double sliding doors from the large eating/kitchen area, where 8 to 10 can be seated, take you out to the upper main level deck and to a large grassy flat area.
Lots of windows allow great views of not only the lake but also of the squirrels and many variety of birds, from both the kitchen and the living room. Two of the four bedrooms are located on this level. One has two single beds in it and the other has a queen size. The three-piece bathroom close by has a jet tub and twin basins.
Downstairs more double sliding doors lead out to the lower deck. One of the two bedrooms on this level has a queen bed and a set of bunk beds in it and the other curtained sleeping area has a single and a queen bed and the best view of the lake from large windows here. There is a three-piece bathroom with a shower on this lower level.
A public ramp for boat launching is very close and the quaint town of Dorset is just five minutes away with its well-known Robinson’s General Store.
Comfort and space abound in this well-kept cottage and the outdoors offer privacy and peacefulness. A perfect family vacation spot!
