Loon Lake Cottage is beautifully furnished, with a spacious 1,400 square foot living area. It is located near the town of Kearney. The cottage has three bedrooms, one with a king bed, one double, and two bunk beds with double beds on the bottom.
There are two bathrooms in the cottage with a Jacuzzi tub in the main one. The living area has a nice view of the lake. There is a walk-out to a small balcony, where you can also enjoy the view.
The lot slopes gently to the lake where there is a nice sandy beach, perfect for young children who love to play in the sand. A fire pit is also located near the waterfront. Two canoes, two new kayaks, and a paddle boat are available for your use along with a swim raft. If you wish to bring your own boat, you can dock it at the dock located in front of the cottage.
The cottage is in a very private, quiet area. Loon Lake is a two-lake system, with Loon Lake and Grass Lake joined by "The Narrows". There is a canoe entrance into Algonquin Park nearby. Put your canoe in the Tim River and get into Algonquin Park within a half hour. A variety store is also located about five minutes away where you can rent movies.
In the winter time, Loon Lake Cottage is your perfect winter paradise. Bring your snowmobile and explore the best snowmobile trails in the area. The Ice Caves are something that you will not want to miss. Enjoy a nice lunch or dinner at Pickerel Lake Lodge. The town of Kearney also hosts an annual Poker Run.
Other activities include dog sledding (there is a dog sledding business located just about 15 minutes from the cottage), ice fishing (Forest Tower Outfitters rent ice huts on Sand Lake, 5 minutes away), and come and see the best dog sled races in Ontario, which take place in Kearney in the month of February.
