This Bala 'Moon Haven' cottage is located at the very end of a cottage laneway, at the end of the municipal road, and sits out on a beautiful point of land that has a southwest exposure where you can capture those great evening sunsets! With the view out onto the water you would hardly tell that you were on the Moon River, due to the large open section where this cottage is located. The Mill Stream boat launch is just down the municipal road and allows you easy access to Lake Muskoka, Rosseau and Joseph. The property waterfront has a beach with hard-packed sand and a shallow access into the water with a very gradual drop. Very child friendly. For the more adventuresome, a jump off the dock into the water can be your refreshing dip ... or sit and relax in the Muskoka chairs either on the dock or on the land and watch the Common Loon with her babies on the picturesque Moon River.
A 14' aluminum Springbok boat with oars is tied up at the T-shaped dock for the renter's use. A motor may be rented from a local marina in the Town of Bala. (Renters will be responsible for their own life jackets).
A fully equipped kitchen with beautiful custom-built knotty pine cabinetry and accompanying pantry are for your use. (Refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, toaster, electric kettle and CD/Radio.) A round cedar table with four matching benches accommodates 8 persons comfortably with a terrific view through two large picture windows allowing continuous viewing of the water, trees, chipmunks, squirrels, birds and wildlife. Undeniably a true dining experience!
A beautiful floor-to-ceiling granite fireplace enhances the bright, cheery living room where you can sit back and enjoy via satellite T.V., VCR and DVD.
Also relax and enjoy the fine, wicker-furnished sunroom (20'x10') overlooking the water.
The windows/screen Muskoka Room (22'x12') is great for relaxing, entertaining or dining and also overlooks the beautiful Moon River. the sunsets are breathtaking.
This is a 4-bedroom cottage with two bedrooms on the main and two
bedrooms on the second floor. The master bedroom has a
queen-size bed and the other main floor bedroom has a double bed.
There are 3 double bets and one twin bed in the upper floor larger
bedroom, and one double bed in the other upper smaller bedroom.
Waterfront:
Sand and shallow entry on Moon River.
