Spend your vacation in Muskoka, in the beautiful Lake of Bays area at a superb, very private, peaceful, beautiful, panoramic cottage with a south-west sunset view (with no cottages in the view).  This well-appointed and well-located lakefront cottage, 40 feet from the lake, is in an ideal location on a small, partially rocky point in a natural setting where majestic white pines, hemlocks and nature abounds. There are lake views from every room!

From the living room, screened veranda (safety glass top table seats six),
patio or the fire pit (ten feet from the lake), watch spectacular sunsets
and shimmering moonlight on the quiet mile-long lake!

The cottage is named: "Ewaya". In Ojibwa it means "Sound of water lapping at the shore's edge".

EWAYA: ONCE EXPERIENCED... ALWAYS RELISHED and NEVER FORGOTTEN!!!

Relish "diamonds" on the lake most afternoons! There's also a dappled shade patio area with two chaise lounges with pads, a swing bench, Muskoka chairs, umbrella table, end tables, etc. There are benches and end tables on the beach and also on the deck at the dock, which gets sun from 10 A.M. or so until sundown.  There are portable fold up fabric chaise lounges available.

This cottage is private at the waterfront with the nearest neighbour being 250 feet and 130 feet behind the cottage.  It is located at the very end of a year-round, low traffic, township road. Menominee Lake, which was explored by Thompson, empties into Lake of Bays by a stream that is not navigable.

There is excellent bass and perch fishing 30 feet off the dock. A prevailing on-shore wind is good for sailing and blows the bugs away. The boats are fully equipped per Canada's new boating regulations which include having paddles, oars, five new life jackets, two Fox whistles, a safety lines and bailers.

The fire-pit, sand box, swing and tree fort with a skull and cross bones flag  are all in dappled shade in full view from the living room side picture window.

The completely private, sand bottom waterfront cove and small sand beach is a great place to spot a great blue heron or loon. There is easy access to good swimming by walking out on the sand bottom or climbing down a ladder into deep water from the dock.

This property is friendly for seniors as well with the car parking near the door.  There are just three steps up to the screened veranda and a sloping path will lead you to the deck at the dock.

The cottage offers a good-sized, four-piece bathroom. Enjoy a full-sized bathtub with shower that has two grab bars, shower hose and tub matt. The bathroom and all of the bedrooms are located off of a hall instead of off of the living room. There are three good-sized bedrooms with very good closets and bureaus.  All beds are easily accessible from both sides and have new mattresses (one queen and two double beds).  Each bedroom doors lock from inside and they have child safety locks.

There is thermostatically controlled electric heat in each room and ceiling fans throughout.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a new Frigidaire 19 cubic foot, frost-free refrigerator, Frigidaire Ceran, black flat top, self-cleaning stove with a two cubic foot Panasonic microwave with a 300 cubic foot a minute exhaust fan. The stainless steel barbeque has a 50,000 B.T.U., 400 square inch main burner.

For entertainment there is Bell Express Vu satellite, Sony Trinitron colour TV with DVD connections to CD and DVD player and also to a VCR. There is also a Denon receiver. Enjoy unlimited,  24-7 long distance calling to Canada and the U.S.A. There is also a state of the art hospital within 20 - 25 minutes.

A 25 minute drive will take you to three terrific PGA courses including Deerhurst Highlands, Mark O'Meara's Grandview (where the "Skins Game" was held a few years ago), and Bigwin Island Golf (voted to be Canada's Best New Course). Also, Canadian Mike Weir (First "lefty" to win the Masters) has his TABOO PGA course 45 minutes away.

A well-behaved dog might be welcome. Only outside smoking is permitted! Families only. Maximum six people overnight including relatives and other guests.

Waterfront:  Shallow, sandy entry on Menominee Lake.
