Appliances and furnishings: Refrigerator, stove, microwave, washer and dryer, 32" colour TV, DVD, VCR, CD player, linens, pillows, towels (no beach towels), living room, family room with pull-out sofa, gas fireplace, patio with barbeque, central air. Linens and towels for indoor use only, are provided.
For
the hiking enthusiast, this country retreat is located on
Westmount Line, five minutes from Goderich. Access to the
Maitland Trail is within a one minute walk, leading to the
historic CPR trestle over the mouth of the Maitland River and
the town of Goderich. Hikers and cyclists will discover a safe
environment to enjoy nature. Additional hiking trails are
located within the nearby Falls Reserve Conservation Area at
Benmiller.
The
area offers four, 18 hole golf courses within a radius of 15
minutes and a mini-golf course within a five minute drive.
Boat launching facilities are available at the port of Goderich
as well.
Other nearby places of interest include the Huron County Museum,
Huron County Gaol and Sky Harbour Airport. Visitors may also
participate in a number of Heritage Walking tours within the
town. Summer offers many attractions such as the annual Arts and
Crafts Festival and the Celtic Roots Festival. The Farmers'
Market on the historic 'Square' is a popular attraction from May
until October.
The
retreat itself provides a relaxing country atmosphere for
responsible adults and small families with an excellent view of
famous Lake Huron sunsets. The cottage is a fully
furnished, central air-conditioned, tastefully decorated home
which features an eat-in kitchen with all appliances and
amenities.
The
living room is a quiet haven for reading or conversation, while
a lower level family room with gas fireplace provides an
entertainment area with 32" colour TV for use with DVD and VCR.
TV reception and a land-line telephone are not available.
The
main level features two bedrooms with queen beds and a
bathroom. The family room has a pull-out sofa that provides
sleeping for two people. Laundry facilities and an additional
bathroom are also located on the lower level.
Linens and towels ( with the exception of beach towels) are
provided with this rental.
The
cottage is surrounded by a spacious yard including a back patio
for outdoor relaxation. A propane barbeque, picnic table and
benches are also available for outdoor dining if desired.
Waterfront:
Sand entry on Lake Huron from two beaches located five kilometres
from the cottage.
