You can rent a beautiful three-bedroom cottage overlooking a quiet cove on Little Bob Lake in the picturesque Haliburton Highlands, approximately 200 km NE of Toronto. It's a very private location with a large rocky ravine and several acres of woodland.
Built in 1992, Baywatch has three bedrooms (one queen bed, one double bed, and a twin trundle bed) and sleeps six people comfortably. Both kitchen and bathroom are newly renovated with ceramic tile flooring and the rest of the cottage has gleaming oak hardwood floors. The kitchen is well-equipped with all appliances and has a large oak parson's table, which seats six. The great room, which is open to the kitchen is comfortably furnished with a woodstove and a slate hearth, television and VCR/DVD player. Sliding glass doors lead to a barbeque on the beautiful 10' x 25' deck overlooking the ravine and bay, which is fully outfitted with comfortable outdoor furniture.
Cottage is fully accessible with a ramp at the entrance. No pets and no smoking.
Little Bob Lake is a relatively small deep lake about 10 minutes south of Minden. It is close to Gull Lake and Minden Hospital. There are many year-round residents who maintain a calm, quiet atmosphere on the lake (although boat motors are permitted). The lake is part of the Trent/Severn Waterway and is regulated by a dam which means that water levels can fluctuate over the summer to a low level in early October. Camp Onondaga (a well respected children’s camp) is located on our lake but some distance away.
The lakefront from the cottage is sloped to the beach with a meandering stone walkway to grass along the lake and granite ledgerock lining the bay. There’s a pedestrian bridge over the babbling creek which flows into the bay and a smooth sand/dirt bottom to the lake which is approximately 3-4 feet deep at the mouth of the bay. A dock and canoe are available on the premises for the use of renters. A kayak and paddle boat may also be available at the discretion of the owners. A large fire pit overlooking the ravine is just steps down from the expansive deck.
The cottage property adjoins the owner’s beautiful three-storey home built of wood and stone which overlooks Little Bob Lake, but with a total of over 3 wooded acres and 200+ ft. of waterfront, there is plenty of privacy for renters. The ravine is a rocky outcropping of rugged Haliburton beauty and there are no neighbours within sight of the cottage. Easy access is provided by a driveway right up to the front door.
Waterfront: Rocky, grassy, sandy beach with shallow entry on Little Bob Lake, with sloping lot from the cottage.
Skiing: Nordic onsite and Alpine at Sir Sam's 20 kilometres away.
