This beautiful newly renovated cottage on Lake Bernard is a wonderful retreat. Only 270 kms north of Toronto and minutes away from the town of Sundridge, this well-appointed cottage is sure to please. With a 180 degree open view of one of the cleanest spring fed lakes around, this home away from is home will make your vacation a unique one.
The large deck surrounding the house offers plenty of chances to catch the sun or have meals outside on the gas BBQ. The large out door hot tub, which overlooks the lake on this spacious deck is bound to be a popular spot and will provide a great opportunity to relax at night under the full northern sky. The surround sound stereo system can be heard both inside and out so be sure to bring some of your favourite CDs. You may also hear the occasional train that runs along the back of the property.
No expense has been spared with the renovations of this upscale cottage. With a completely new kitchen, new appliances, cherry wood and unique ceramic flooring, cathedral ceilings, fabulous gas fireplace feature wall and leather furniture, you will be in the lap of luxury as you listen to the water lapping at the shores of Lake Bernard.
The bedroom on the main floor offers a double bed and a walk out to the deck while the upstairs bedroom has a queen-size bed and view of the lake. Also found upstairs in the loft area, you will find two single pull out couches as well as a satellite TV. For those looking for more privacy, extra sleeping arrangements are available in the separate bunkie, which has 2 double beds.
Laundry will not be an issue, as this cottage comes equipped with a washer and dryer. You will also find a toilet and sink in the laundry room. The main bathroom has both a claw-foot bathtub to soak in or a separate shower, if this is your preference.
The entry to the water is shallow for 150 feet with a very soft bottom. More suitable swimming can be found at High Rock or the public beach, which is within walking distance. Sand has been brought in for the children’s enjoyment and sand castle creations are limitless down at the waterfront.
The view alone is amazing on this 400 ft lot but the added wildlife is definitely one of the highlights of this location. Although it is private and separate from any surrounding neighbours, the accessibility to amenities in Sundridge is never a hassle (LCBO, IGA and local restaurants are less than four kilometres away.)
The unique character of this cottage and coziness of its furnishings makes for a great retreat anytime of the year. You are sure to enjoy swimming, canoeing and fishing in the summer or ice fishing and snowmobiling in the winter.
