Very private, beautiful 1,250 square foot cottage for rent on pristine North Channel of Lake Huron. Located halfway between Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario at Algoma Mills, just off Highway 17, 12 miles east of the town of Blind River. The cottage is easily accessible, down a 1/3 mile private drive.

This wonderfully comfortable cottage is located on a 35-acre parcel of private land with 4,000 feet of private waterfront shoreline. There are two private sandy beaches, which are shallow for quite a distance (very safe for children). The main beach is 600 feet long and the second beach is 150 feet long. There is a small island (known to owners as "Deborah Island") approximately 400 feet away and the water is shallow so one can walk to it. A great place for solitude with a cup of coffee in the morning!

One bedroom has a king size bed, the second bedroom as a queen size bed and the third bedroom has three single beds. All beds are equipped with sheets, pillows and blankets. A new four-piece bathroom provides all the conveniences of home.

The cottage is equipped with spring fed hot and cold running water. There is a large deck at the front of the cottage which overlooks the lake, as well as a small covered deck at the back of the cottage. A propane barbeque is available for outdoor cooking. Large picnic tables are available at both the cottage and the beach.

Try the sauna located down at the beach, then go for a dip in the lake. Or simply relax and let the sound of the waves lull you to sleep. Sailboats sometimes go by at a distance, so bring your binoculars for a good look! You can also go snorkeling as the water is very clear. A fire pit is available at one end of the beach for campfires. Weiner sticks are available for weiner roasts.

For the fishing enthusiasts, besides Lake Huron, there are many other lakes close by for fishing, including Lake Lauzon which is fives minutes away (famous for lake trout).

Boat launching for Lake Huron is available nearby. Boat and motor rentals are available in Blind River.

Blind River, only 12 miles away, offers all amenities including grocery stores, restaurants, shopping, as well as salmon fishing charters. Golf courses are located nearby, one in Blind River 15 minutes away and one in Elliot Lake 30 minutes away. Also, there are many scenic routes in the area to enjoy. One in particular is the "Deer Trail", a circular route via Elliot Lake, through the Mississagi Provincial Park, along the Little White River Valley, and coming out at Iron Bridge on the Trans Canada Highway, which is easily done in an afternoon.
