This fully winterized year-round home sits on the north shore of Deer Lake. From the picture windows in the living room overlooking the lake, virtually all that can be seen is a beautiful view of the lake and the crown land on the opposite shore. No other cottages or neighbours are visible, although adjacent, year-round neighbours are close by.
There are three bedrooms. One bedroom has a double bed, one has two single beds, and the third has one single firm futon mattress bed. There are two futon sofa beds in the living room, each of which folds out to a double bed.
Summer attractions are too numerous to mention. While Deer Lake is relatively isolated and quiet it is well situated to take advantage of many summer time attractions. It is located just minutes from the south end of Algonquin Park. Inside the house there is a collection of maps and brochures on things for all ages to do and see in the area. Some of the local attractions, with phone numbers and web sites where available, are listed in the Welcome letter so that you may plan ahead.
Winter attractions include cross country skiing, snow-shoeing and snowmobiling. Silent Lake Provincial Park is reputed to have the best cross-country skiing in Ontario. Algonquin Park offers dog sledding and snow-shoeing as well as cross-country skiing. For snowmobilers, we are located near the junction of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs TOP Trail E & the Paudash Trailblazers Snowmobile Club Trail No. 14. Local snowmobile clubs are members of the Algonquin Snowtrails Alliance.
